Fernando Alonso continues on the crest of the wave. The Asturian Formula 1 driver has a whole legion of fans who support him daily, passionately following each of his races.
Although most of the driver's followers are young, Fernando Alonso has some elderly fans, such as Paqui, who has followed the Aston Martin leader since he first drove a Formula 1 car in 2001.
The old woman expressed her admiration for Alonso through social networks, in a video where she stated: “Fernando. I really like watching you run. I have always been very assiduous of your races. Send me a t-shirt and sign it. “I am an older lady now and I want to have something of yours, because I admire you a lot.”
Alonso himself reacted to this special request on his X account (former Twitter), answering with a 'Yes' and a heart that he dedicated to his longest-running fan.
Thanks to the dissemination of her video, Paqui has met her idol this week, melting into a most tender hug: "We have achieved it. Grandma Paqui today has finally fulfilled her dream and has met Fernando Alonso in person. In addition, he has given him his signed cap. Thank you very much," says @ceciarmy in a tweet.
During their meeting, Alonso crowned her as "the most famous grandmother in Spain", and immediately afterwards she took off her cap to give it to Paqui, who accepted this gift with a smile from ear to ear.
