Emma García leaves 'Fiesta' before the program ends: "All your colleagues want to congratulate you"

Emma García is the visible face of Telecinco during weekend afternoons. The Basque presenter has been at the helm of Fiesta for several years, but she has rarely become the center of attention on her own program. However, this afternoon it was not like that.

The announcement of what was going to happen at 7:00 p.m., full of mystery and expectation, began with a dramatic bait: "Attention, breaking news forces us to interrupt the broadcast of Fiesta," resounded a voice in off, while an alarm sounded in the background. "Something very important and never seen before in this program is about to happen," the voice continued, anticipating an unprecedented event in the history of the program.

The surprise was revealed when García spoke, confessing his nervousness at the announcement, although he knew perfectly well that it was not something bad as is usually the case. "Thank goodness I know what this is about, otherwise it would have scared me a little," he admitted.

The reason for her sudden departure soon became known: she and Eva Espejo, director of the program, had to go to the Aranjuez Casino to receive the Antena de Oro, a prestigious award granted by the Federation of Radio and Television Associations of Spain. "They have given us the Golden Antenna and I am very happy," said García excitedly.

This recognition, awarded annually to the best professionals in the sector, already has El Hormiguero, Igor Gómez from TVE's Telediario Fin de Semana on its list of winners, Risto Mejide and Cristina Pardo.

During his absence, María Verdoy, host of Rediséñame and who had already demonstrated her ability as co-host of Fiesta along with Frank Blanco - being quite a surprise by not being corseted in her -e section - took the reins of the program.
