Cristina Pedroche reacts to the use of her image on networks for continuous hoaxes and scams: "I feel powerless"

Cristina Pedroche is experiencing some difficult first months of postpartum. After the birth of her daughter, Laia, on July 14, the collaborator assures that she is "learning" step by step about this new facet of hers, being her mother. A full-time task that has been interrupted by controversies on social networks. First, because of her comments taken out of context about the body after pregnancy; and now, for the photos created by an artificial intelligence (AI) with her face with which she stars in dozens of hoaxes and scams.

Some images in which the presenter is "seen" in situations or false news in which she is the protagonist and which, obviously, have never happened. Pedroche reacted to these images, lamenting that there is little that can be done against this type of crime of using her image without her consent for this clear attempt at fraud.

“I feel helpless, because absolutely nothing can be done”, writes the Password presenter in her Instagram Stories, sharing a few samples of this type of “news” that circulate on social networks, “Clearly it is seen that it is a scam , but I am very sorry if there are some people who can fall into the trap and deceive them.

The Zapeando collaborator refers to all these apparent "news" in which she can be seen starring in scandals and the most diverse situations, obviously false, created so that the user clicks attracted by her image and that leads to unknown links on Internet.

"They are using my image without my consent, and no matter how much I report them, they create another account every hour," he says, lamenting the situation and legal vacuum for this new type of crime. “There should be a limit and a penalty for this kind of thing,” she insists.

She is not the first to denounce this type of situation. Just a few days ago, it was the influencer Laura Escanes who informed her millions of followers of her frustration after some images created by artificial intelligence in which she appears naked were made public.

"Apart from feeling totally used and exposed, there is something that makes my blood boil," she reacted, furious, through Twitter. “A woman's body is not used. Neither for pleasure, nor to abuse or manipulate. I am disgusted by the person who created them, but also by those who are there and find it funny and keep quiet."

Like Pedroche, he stressed that he had not given permission to use his image. “If I want to undress, I undress myself. But I have not given consent for them to edit a photo of me, ”she insisted.

A few weeks ago it was Rosalía who denounced this type of manipulation on the Internet. In May, the Catalan denounced through Twitter how the rapper JC Reyes had published some manipulated images of her. "Going to look for clout disrespecting and sexualizing someone is a type of violence and disgusting, but doing it for 4 more plays is a shame," he wrote, referring to some edited images created by the Sevillian rapper, for which he later apologized.

“A woman's body is not public property, it is not a commodity for your marketing strategy. Those photos were edited and you created a false narrative around when I don't even know you. There is something called consent and all of you who found it funny and plausible I sincerely hope that one day you will learn that you come from a woman, that women are sacred and that we must be respected.
