'Cifuras y letras' returns to RTVE with Aitor Albizua as presenter

Radio Televisión Española continues to bet on bringing back some of the most mythical formats in the history of television. The return of the Grand Prix is being a complete success on the public channel, and the followers of the original format are very satisfied with the return of one of the contests that has given the Spanish population the best moments during the summers.

For this reason, it is not surprising that RTVE wanted to use the same technique again and bet on another of the most beloved formats. And it is also not the only one. All the Spanish channels have fallen into the fashion of nostalgia and have brought back television spots that ended years ago. Without going any further, Antena 3 has been the last to launch the famous Password contest. Telecinco, for its part, also did the same with the return of Alla Tú.

This time the public channel has wanted to take over the broadcast rights of the Cifras y letras contest again. The mythical question and answer space was very successful in its two television stages. It began its broadcasts in the nineties by the hand of Radio Televisión Española. Later it was acquired by FORTA and broadcast on different regional channels, such as Telemadrid, Canal Sur or Televisión Canaria. Its last broadcast was in 2013 on Galician Television.

According to what El Confidencial Digital has learned first-hand, the public entity would have reached an agreement with the producer for the rights to the program and they would plan to broadcast the deliveries before the end of 2023.

The previously mentioned medium has also revealed that the contest will be broadcast in the prime time slot of La 2 from Monday to Thursday, coinciding with El Hormiguero by Pablo Motos. In addition, according to the sources of El Confidencial Digital, the presenter that the public entity would have chosen would be Aitor Albizua, one of the most popular faces on RTVE and who also leads the El Comodín contest every afternoon on La 1.

The legendary television contest pitted two contestants against each other in two tests each afternoon. The first of them, the figures, had to be obtained an integer from 101 to 999 with arithmetic operations of six numbers. The contestant who guessed the exact number won the test and got 8 points. In the next test, that of the letters, each contestant had to form the longest word with the nine letters that were given to them without repeating vowels or consonants.
