Boris Izaguirre reacts to the entry into prison of his friend Rafael Amargo: "A real disaster"

The well-known dancer Rafael Amargo has become one of the public figures of the moment. Last Friday, November 3, the man from Granada entered the Madrid prison of Soto del Real because he was not complying with the weekly obligation to sign in the corresponding judicial body for the accusation in which he has been involved for years. In addition to his breach of obligation, the Madrid Court decreed that there was a "great risk of flight."

According to the Prosecutor's Office, the Andalusian artist faces charges of nine years in prison for a crime against public health after the authorities found a host of illegal and narcotic substances in his home in the capital of Madrid: 100 grams of methamphetamine, 40 grams of ketamine, three popper bottles, etc.

Since it came to light that Amargo had provisionally entered prison, different celebrities and public figures have reacted to the news with surprise, sorrow and sadness.

A famous person who has spoken openly about the situation is the television presenter, writer and collaborator Boris Izaguirre. The communicator of Venezuelan origin is very fond of Amargo and has explained before the microphones of different media that he feels sincerely that his friend's life has become a "real disaster" because of his drug addiction: " 'He was in the process of trying to detoxify, but addictions are diseases. Rafael is a person who is sick. Probably, his medicine may be more prone to his condemnation. This is very difficult to understand."

For the man who was a close friend of Isabel Preysler, the environment and the companies that surround the artist have a lot to do with it, since he believes that he is an impressionable and weak person when faced with a subject as delicate as addiction: ''Rafael has been surrounded by wonderful people, but I think that right now he doesn't have those wonderful people in his environment.''

The news of the dancer's arrest has fallen like a bucket of cold water on his closest environment, family and friends. As Jaime Caballero, Amargo's lawyer, confirmed to El Español, the artist's father has been admitted to an emergency hospital after the arrest of the accused.

A few months ago, Amargo spoke publicly and explained that his family was having a very hard time with their legal problems, especially his father: ''What hurts me the most is that it is costing my father his life.''
