Last night, Thursday, became one of the most important for the Spanish music scene. Not only because of the quality of its artists, but because of the magnitude of the event that was held in Seville. The Andalusian capital was the first city outside the United States to host the Latin Grammy Awards, filling the Fibes Congress and Exhibition Center with the clamor of the public. However, not everything was good news, particularly in the sound section.
Despite being a party dedicated to music and artists of all types and genres, the broadcast of the event was plagued by technical problems, both auditory and visual. RTVE, in charge of holding the gala, received many complaints through social networks, particularly for instances in which the sound was heard strangely or not even heard at all. The public television network has not commented on the matter.
“Watching the Grammy gala, the Spanish technical and informative level is at the level of its politicians: cameras focusing on the floor or ceiling, sound and focus errors, influencers who have no idea and cover up the interviewee, it is a simple red carpet,” international journalist Marga Zambrana expressed on X (Twitter). A feeling shared by a multitude of followers, who did not know how to understand the errors presented by the broadcast from Seville.
“I feel like something went wrong in the sound of the Latin Grammys, when they sang they sounded super strange,” said a user hours after the gala ended. Some performances were also criticized by the public, generating the most striking comparisons. “Between the sound of TVE at the gala and the fact that they don't have autotune, I don't know if it's the Grammy gala or a cat fight in the street,” criticized another user.
“RTVE has bad sound even at the Latin Grammys”, “Is it me or the sound of the Latin Grammys sounds strange” and “Someone explain to me what's wrong with the microphones at the Grammys, because you can't hear anything and they're bad ”, were some of the most repeated complaints. A feeling that even spread for possible future occasions. “We are not yet ready to win Eurovision,” replied a user to the message published by Marga Zambrana.
Beyond the technical problems, the gala was able to deliver the awards they had been assigned without major difficulties. Karol G took home the most notable award of the night, Best Album of the Year, for his album Tomorrow Will Be Beautiful, which also won in Urban Music. Natalia Lafourcade gave the surprise by winning Best Recording with De todos las flores and Shakira's Session with Bizarrap bagged the statuettes for Best Song and Pop Song.
