Andy and Lucas clarify doubts about their artistic future: "We did not separate as a musical couple"

Last week, Andy and Lucas attended El Hormiguero as guests to present their next tour throughout Spain. What the viewers of Pablo Motos' program did not expect is that the concerts they were going to announce would be the last after 20 years of professional career, and that they took advantage of their visit to the television space to announce their separation.

The reason for this unexpected news is a series of health problems that affect Lucas González, half of the musical duo. More specifically, the artist is suffering from a cardiovascular problem that causes him constant dizziness. "We don't know if we're going to come back because his health comes first," Andy said about his co-worker.

Andy and Lucas's last tour, at least for now, will be called Our Last Chords, and was presented this Thursday by the two artists at a press conference. Cádiz, Barcelona, Seville and Madrid will be the duo's four stops on their musical farewell.

At the same event, held at the headquarters of the Society of Performing Artists of Spain (AIE) in Madrid, they also cleared up all doubts about their future after announcing that they were leaving music. "We did not separate as a musical couple," Andy assured, while showing the medical report that supports the decision to retire from the stage.

Both have remembered that this will be their last tour for the moment, but they do not rule out returning in the future if Lucas's health improves and the doctors advise him to do so. "It has not occurred to us to do anything separately," they said at the press conference.

They insist that they will "surely" continue to be "linked to music", given how surprising it may be for two such young artists to retire after 20 years of professional careers. For his part, Lucas assured that, during the time in which they will not do concerts, they can "compose together" and make "an album more calmly" in which they "work little by little" and more calmly "without everything be so robotic.”
