This Wednesday, Espejo Público has addressed the consequences that being a family member of a well-known person can have on a professional level, especially in the case of parents and children. There are also several cases of this type on Spanish television, and two of them have spoken openly about their personal cases.
Gloria Camila and Alonso Caparrós showed their faces in the program presented by Susanna Griso on Antena 3 to shed light on the matter and demonstrate that professional worth is not dictated by a last name. The daughter of Ortega Cano and Rocío Jurado also recalled that some children of public figures have chosen to remain outside of fame, as in the case of Andrea Janeiro, daughter of Belén Esteban.
Although Gloria Camila claims to be proud of her roots, she has also made it clear that her career goes far beyond appearing on television and becoming known for the renown of her parents. "There are people who are 'daughter of' and live off the story and do nothing with their lives, and then I have my studies. [...] I do other things and look for sources of income independent of TV or living as a 'daughter of'", he assured.
Caparrós then took the floor and began by telling how his beginnings on television occurred, which go beyond being the son of the presenter Andrés Caparrós. "I removed the label a long time ago. "I started on television by chance because my father was a friend of María Teresa Campos, but I discovered my vocation and began to carve my own path, which had nothing to do with 'I am the son of a'," he revealed before the cameras of Public mirror.
