Throughout her life, Almudena Cid (42 years old) has had to overcome very difficult moments. In her stage as an athlete, she reached the top without the support of the Gymnastics Federation. After her, came the marriage and subsequent separation from Christian Gálvez, after eleven years of marriage and fifteen years of relationship, a moment in which her life fell apart and that she overcame thanks to what she learned during her stage as a professional. .
"The end of my marriage destroyed me and annulled me," Cid confesses exclusively for Lecturas magazine. About her relationship with the popular presenter, the Basque says that "fifteen years gives you a lot to know the other person." And she remembers the most difficult moments after the separation: "I was very bad for months, feeling that I had done something wrong."
The former gymnast has just published Walking Without Toes, an exciting project about how she regained control of her life after her separation in 2021. In the book, she recounts how she had to resort to her experience as an elite athlete when her life fell apart.
“When she had to look back and find a way to deal with the chaos, the discipline and mental strength that she developed in her career as a gymnast returned with more presence than ever,” she explains in the synopsis of the book.
