The events date back to 2001, when Carlos Iglesias, as manager of the company Rolimpa Trading Corporation, did not make any tax declaration or income for the sale of three plots of land, in the amount of 46,277,932.04 euros, which had previously been had acquired in 1989 for a value of 601,012 euros.

The singer's brother has also been sentenced to four years of loss of the possibility of public subsidies or aid and the right to enjoy tax or Social Security benefits or incentives. In addition, he must compensate the Public Treasury with a total of 19,624,655 euros, plus late payment interest, which amounts to almost thirty million euros. Rolimpa Trading Corporation must be subsidiarily responsible for this amount.

The resolution details that the magistrates consider that "Rolimpa Trading Corporation should have declared to the Spanish Tax Agency for corporate tax, the profits obtained from the sale of the land." Furthermore, this lack of declaration represented a fraud against the Public Treasury of 19,624,655.16 euros. An amount that entered the estate of Carlos-Luis Iglesias as an illicit economic benefit.
