A bachelor from 'First Dates' shocks his date by confessing what he did with his ex: ''I hired a detective because when the river sounds, it brings rocks''

As presenter Carlos Sobera explains at the beginning of First Dates, his restaurant is not a normal television space, but rather it is "a place where those who need to find love can find it."

Motivated by the desire to find their better half and to live a unique and different experience, dozens of single men and women come to the Mediaset España program every week and give the audience unforgettable moments. This is the case of David and Ricardo, two singles who are looking for stability and who are tired of express sex and sporadic relationships without feelings.

David entered the restaurant animated and smiling and soon explained to Sobera that he had been single for a long time and that he was looking forward to finding a person who would break his mold. For his part, Ricardo came to the dinner saying that he was looking for "something emotional" and that he wanted a person who is there in the good times, but also in the bad.

The first impression of the singles was good, since they both liked each other and complimented each other about their physique, their clothing style and their outfit for the night. Furthermore, they are both from Venezuela, a point that worked in Ricardo's favor, since David has only had serious relationships with Venezuelans.

Everything was going great. They were both comfortable getting to know each other better when the topic of past relationships came up. At that moment, Ricardo confessed something that left his companion stunned.

The man from Caracas explained that his first relationship became very toxic and that he felt very jealous because of the actions of his partner, who was supposedly straight: ''I hired a detective, an investigator (...) Because when The river sounds, it brings rocks. To justify himself, he opened up to David and told him that, once the first two years of dating had passed, he discovered that his ex was with other men and women and that she used them as disposable handkerchiefs.

At one point, the topic of sex focused all the attention of the date. While David defined himself as 'versatile', Ricardo made it very clear that he had tried to be active on many occasions and that, today, he considers himself 100% passive.

At first, David was not displeased with his date's position, but when they had to make the final decision he asked him directly if it would be a problem for him to change the role ever. Given Ricardo's refusal, the two decided to go their separate ways and not have a second meeting.
