Youth as the central axis of the present and the future of Sustainability

Progressively, sustainability is becoming a concept increasingly internalized by most of society. Somehow, it is interpreted as those policies that are gaining a prominent place in the agendas of practically all the governments of the world to take care of the planet and its resources with present and future generations in mind. And perhaps for this reason, youth have a very important role as leaders and agents of change to face the challenges of sustainable development.

According to the United Nations, today there are 1.8 billion people between the ages of 10 and 24, representing the largest generation of youth in history. It is about a social profile connected to each other like never before and who want to contribute to the resilience of their communities, proposing innovative solutions, generating social progress and inspiring political changes.

Starting from this reality, it would be a mistake to interpret that youth is only the future, since it is also the essential present to apply sustainable development. And an example of these restless young people is Carlota Bruna, a young woman who, by disclosing her concern for the environment, has become the most important influencer in our country in terms of Sustainability.

Bruna, beyond the large number of followers she has on social networks, such as Instagram, is also the author of two naturalist books: "We are the last generation that can save the planet", where she calls for the attention of young people to reverse the destruction enviroment. As well as "Road to a vegan world", where she links her naturalist passion with her nutritionist profession.

This renowned content creator is also a Storyteller for the prestigious National Geographic magazine, as well as an ambassador for the European climate pact. Taking into account the impressive profile of the young woman, La Vanguardia wants to bring her closer to her public through the SOS-tenibilidad conference cycle that, on this occasion and how could it be otherwise, revolves around youth.

The twelfth conference of this cycle will be led by this young influencer and can be followed at www.lavanguardia.com on March 30 at 10 a.m.
