During recent years the range has expanded with new models, such as the ID.4 (the best-selling in the range), ID.4 GTX, ID.5 or ID5 GTX. Volkswagen has also made a nod to the past with the ID. Buzz, the electric reinterpretation of one of the most legendary models in automotive history, the Bulli.

Volkswagen was the first manufacturer to make public its commitment to the Paris agreements and its goal is to be a CO2 neutral company by 2050. The brand has announced that it will continue to promote its electric offensive with eleven new electric models until 2027. Its goal is that, by 2030, 80% of its sales volume in Europe will be 100% electric vehicles.
