The tender for Imserso trips increases by 7.5% and incorporates 70,000 new seats

The tender for Imserso trips for the 2023-2024 season, which will open next September, includes a 7.5% price increase and 70,000 new seats, to close to 900,000, with a 14% higher budget , about 300 million euros.

The new program, published this Friday in the Official State Gazette (BOE), is tendered for 71.69 million euros and the duration of the contract extends between September 1, 2023 and August 31, 2024. In addition, The deadline for receiving offers or requests for participation ends at 11:59 p.m. on May 3, 2023, as reported by the Europa Press agency.

Of the three lots that make up the program, the first, on the peninsular coast, will have 444,000 beds; the island coast, with 230,000; and number 3, for getaway tourism and European origin, with 212,000 seats.

Regarding the price per lot, it will reach 32.08 million euros, 24.01 million euros and 15.52 million euros, respectively. In addition, the increase of 70,000 places will be allocated to lot 3, which will specifically reach 212,343 places, while the other two lots will maintain their current number.

The new contest may be extended for those of 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 and is already causing great interest among the main tourist groups in Spain. The current program, which was headed for a third extension that was not approved in the end, is in the hands of Mundiplan (Iberia, IAG7 and Alsa) and Turismo Social (Ávoris), which, as confirmed to Europa Press, will present again for the new sheets.

In addition, other companies recently confirmed that they will enter the contest or their intention to bid for the program, such as World2Meet or Soltour Travel Partners. Likewise, the Viajes El Corte Inglés Group reported that it "does not rule out any of the options."

Another novelty is that future Imserso trips will incorporate all the provinces of Spain, going from 18 to 52, with 10 new cultural circuits, 19 new nature routes and an increase in places with rooms for individual use (which will go from 2 % to 10%).

Among other novelties of the new pleas, more than 1,000 plazas will be reserved for itineraries with literary, musical, theatrical or gastronomic cultural themes in areas of special cultural interest in Spain.

The processing of trips will also be expedited by implementing electronic registration so that users can register at the accommodation by showing their identity document.
