The powerful electric motorcycle whose design hides its mobility without emissions

The showcase of electric proposals in the field of motorcycles continues to grow in parallel with the interest that these arouse in more and more users. Beyond the sustainability that accompanies this type of zero-emission vehicles, performance begins to play a relevant role when choosing between one alternative or another.

Almost two years ago, the electric motorcycle company Maeving became known with its RM1, a vehicle that fused a retro aesthetic with the current modernity offered by new zero-emission mobility technologies. That model was characterized by a power equivalent to 6 HP and its maximum speed was 72 km/h.

Now, the firm takes another step in terms of performance with the arrival of the RM1S, which integrates a hub motor whose power is equivalent to 14 HP. This leap is accompanied, as is evident, by a greater acceleration capacity and, furthermore, a higher maximum speed. And this new version can reach 105 km/h.

This makes it a much more versatile machine than before, without overlooking that it also offers more agile and fun driving. Where there are no changes in the area of autonomy, since the RM1S maintains a range close to 130 km, as happens in the RM1. It integrates two battery packs that can be removed from the motorcycle to recharge them at home or at work.

Likewise, the system also allows recharging the batteries directly from the vehicle without having to remove them. Keep in mind that it takes 3.5 hours to simultaneously charge both packages from zero to 80% or 4.5 hours to reach 100%. Maeving has assured that the RM1S comes in response to customer suggestions requesting greater power and a more ambitious top speed.

The increase in performance has not been accompanied by significant design changes, since the aesthetics have remained practically identical to that of the RM1 (which is still on the market). At first glance, it retains the same vintage-style appearance that quite conceals the electric nature of the vehicle. Details such as the long wheelbase or the individual leather seat remain two of its characteristic features.

Looking closer, we will notice that the battery casings are somewhat larger and that it adopts a more robust front braking system, in line with the greater performance capacity of the motorcycle. In this case, a 300 mm disc is equipped with a three-piston caliper. Added to this is the possibility of choosing between four new color combinations in order to add a few additional touches of personalization.

As for the price of the RM1S, it is around 8,700 euros. Maeving plans to deliver the first units during the spring of 2024. If you are interested in seeing in more detail the RM1 on which the latest novelty from the British brand is based, all you have to do is take a look at the video that accompanies this article.
