Volvo has announced it is redoubling its commitment to the climate. That is, the goal has been set to reduce CO2 emissions per car by 75% by 2030. This is in addition to the ambition to achieve climate neutrality by 2040 and reduce CO2 emissions per car by 40 percent between 2018 and 2025.
Achieving these ambitious goals is easy with cars like the new XC60 Recharge, a medium-large SUV (4.69 meters in length) with plug-in hybrid technology that can have up to 82 kilometers of electric range. A distance in pure electric mode that makes the new XC60 Recharge a really interesting family SUV alternative to use every day.
And it is because in most cases it is sufficient mileage to cover the daily trips necessary for family mobility. Volvo offers two versions of its XC60 Recharge: the XC60 Recharge PHEV T6 eAWD and the XC60 Recharge PHEV T8 Polestar eAWD. Both models with all-wheel drive. The plug-in hybrid engine develops 350 HP in the T6 and 455 HP in the T8 and has an 18.8 kWh battery that improves electric range.
Volvo establishes the electric range, in WLTP approval, at 82 km (T6) and 76 km (T8). And with the One Pedal Drive driving system, the driver can use the accelerator to both accelerate and brake, pressing the pedal to accelerate and lifting the foot to gently brake until the vehicle comes to a stop. This function is especially useful in the city.
The XC60 is also available in 48-volt mild-hybrid versions, with both gasoline and diesel engines. Power ranges between 197 HP and 300 HP. Mild-hybrid engines offer up to 15% fuel savings and reduced emissions in real-world driving.
Prices for the new XC60 range from 67,300 euros (T6 Core) to 86,250 euros for the T8 Polestar.
