The interest on the new Treasury bills reaches 3.2%

The appetite for Treasury bills remains strong, with strong demand for the 1,985.4 million 3- and 9-month titles that were auctioned this Tuesday. Interest has fluctuated between 2.94% and 3.199%, respectively, above previous placements, according to data from the public body.

The Treasury had proposed to obtain between 1,500 and 2,500 million euros in this auction, with which the final amount was almost in the middle of the target range. The demand more than doubled what was received, since it reached 5,367.45 million.

In the case of 3-month bills, the Treasury placed 463.36 million at an interest of 2.94%, higher than the 2.638% of the operation last March. The demand for this product multiplied by more than four.

Regarding the 9-month bills, the Treasury captured 1,522 million, with an interest of 3.199%, above the 3.034% of the March auction. In this case, the demand from investors was 3,383.49 million, slightly more than double.

The most immediate calendar includes an auction of 7-year, 10-year bonds and with a residual life of 25 years and 6 months, all of them this Thursday. That day the intention is to place between 5,500 and 6,500 million in debt.
