The fun electric moped to dominate the countryside and the city

Every day more and more electric mopeds land on the market, some of them with a uniform, neutral and somewhat boring design. Many drivers, however, seek to differentiate themselves from the rest with a two-wheeled vehicle that has attractive aesthetics but is, at the same time, functional and versatile. This is precisely the case of the new electric-powered moped called Lynx, from the company QuietKat, which is the team in charge of designing and manufacturing the bicycles of the Jeep automobile brand.

With a clearly retro style, the new Lynx moped boasts a slightly higher frame and riding position than many of its electric-powered competitors. It therefore offers handling that may be more comfortable for people above average height.

With an aluminum structure painted in white or black, it features an integral suspension system, an integrated and removable battery and the capacity to transport two people. The latter is possible thanks to the double seat and a rear shock absorber, which helps to support a maximum weight of 136 kg.

The vehicle weighs only 45 kg and has a powerful 1,000 W motor mounted on the rear hub. It offers a not inconsiderable 83 Nm of torque, which allows it to be driven both in the city and on dirt roads without difficulty. The maximum speed of the Lynx is limited to 45 km/h in order to comply with the legislation for this type of vehicle.

The motor is powered by a 20 Ah, 48 V battery that offers a total of 960 Wh. This gives it, according to the manufacturer, a range of almost 100 km in the driving tests that have been carried out. Taking into account the average number of kilometers of daily distance traveled by most drivers, it can undoubtedly largely meet expectations in this area.

As for other notable features, there is the inverted front fork, which provides 203 mm of travel, an original front light, high-quality brakes and an LCD screen that shows the main parameters.

The wide Lynx tires increase the cushioning sensation of the moped and help reduce and mitigate some of the bumps that we may encounter during trips, as well as reduce vibrations.

The only aspect that can be seen as a disadvantage is the somewhat high price of this product. In total, interested buyers will have to shell out almost 4,000 euros for a Lynx fresh from the factory. The moped is currently available for pre-order, with shipments beginning in the coming weeks.
