The Andalucía Bike Race ends its 13th edition with a great sporting spectacle

The Oakley Finisher Stage has brought the 13th edition of the Andalucía Bike Race by GARMIN to an end after six days of competition, 339 kilometers covered and almost 9,500 meters of accumulated positive elevation gain. The stage, starting and finishing in Córdoba, in the Asomadilla park, has had the mythical ascent of the Drag ass as the highlight of the route.

Wout Alleman and Fabian Rabensteiner (Wilier Pirelly Factory) delivered the final blow to the race by winning the Oakley Finisher Stage and achieving an overall victory that was already well on track before the last stage. “Except for the first day, the rest of the week has been perfect for us and we are very happy. In the last two days we wanted to control the race a bit, always being among the first two couples, but without taking too many risks, and in the end we were able to take the victory”.

The last stage has been developed with a script very similar to the one experienced yesterday in the Skoda Super Stage. The leaders Alleman and Rabensteiner, who have been the strongest throughout the race, once again took the reins of the stage together with Enrique Morcillo and Hugo Drechou (BUFF®-Megamo Team). Both couples have repeated the same finish as yesterday in Parque de la Asomadilla, but this time the leaders have not forgiven and have added a new stage victory. In this way, Alleman and Rabensteiner close this edition of Andalucía Bike Race by GARMIN with four partial victories and victory in the general classification.

The second position achieved by Morcillo and Drechou has also served them to finish second in the general classification. In the fight for the podium, the Italians Francesco Failli and Riccardo Chiarini (Taddei Factory Team) take third place overall after being third in the Oakley Finisher Stage.

They have also managed to maintain the leadership Katazina Sosna and Irina Luetzelschwab (Team Torpado BULLS Swiss), who after being second in the Oakley Finisher Stage take the victory of the 13th Andalucía Bike Race by GARMIN. Lejla Njemcevic and Stefanie Dohrn (Canyon Allebike) came out in the last stage wanting to hit the general classification, but Sosna and Luetzelschwab were able to control the difference and take the final victory. “During the descent we reduced the gap with Njemcevic and Dohrn and in the last section we pushed as hard as they could win the stage but we took the lead, and that was the most important thing for us”.

The victory achieved in the last stage by Njemcevic and Dohrn has served them to consolidate their second position in the general classification, while Janina Wüst and

Txell Figueras (BUFF®-Megamo Team) finished in third position and completed the podium.
