Stikets acquires the assets of Barcelona-based Camaloon

The Stickets Company, a company specialized in the production of personalized labels, has acquired the assets of the Camaloon brand to grow in the world of corporate merchandising.

The operation was closed at the beginning of this year, framed within a bankruptcy process in which Stikets won the auction to acquire Camaloon's digital assets and brand. “The opportunity suited us like a glove to grow in a sector in which we barely had a presence,” acknowledges Antoni Ribas, owner of the business that he founded with Stephanie Marko.

Since its birth in 2010, Stikets has always focused on the end consumer, offering them the opportunity to personalize stickers, bracelets, school supplies and dozens of other items. “We have been looking for an opportunity to diversify for a long time and with the Camaloon brand we are confident of growing in this sector since the firm is associated with corporate merchandising,” comments the manager, who has been working on the integration of both brands. Stikets' operations are based on an exclusively online model: the client designs their custom product, Stikets produces it in its facilities and delivers it to the home. In total, it employs around fifty people and 55% of orders are sent abroad, to Central European countries such as Italy, Germany or France.

Thanks to the integration with Camaloon, Stikets aims to earn 12 million euros this year, compared to 10 million the previous year. “We have only been there a few months and this new division focused on companies is already generating orders,” he says.

As for Camaloon, the company has already been liquidated, with the consequent loss of more than 180 jobs in the last three years. “The pandemic got us into a phase of strong expansion during which we had requested a lot of loans from the banks,” acknowledges Bernat Farrero, who ran Camaloon in Barcelona with Juan Rodríguez while leading Factorial, one of the reference startups in the city.

Camaloon recovered its activity after confinement but was forced to enter bankruptcy proceedings as it was unable to satisfy a debt of several million euros. The potential of the business – which had reached a turnover of 19 million in 2019 – was still there and Stikets did not think twice when seeing the opportunity to acquire the brand's assets.
