Seidor takes control of the Madrid company Gesein

Seidor has taken control of the technology consultancy Gesein, founded 30 years ago in Madrid by a group of small local businessmen. The amount of the operation has not been revealed, nor has the percentage of capital that has changed hands.

The Catalan multinational, directed by Josep Benito, wants to enhance its presence in the public sector with this acquisition, for which it develops digitalization projects.

Gesein has extensive experience in this field, working especially for the General State Administration, and also for autonomous communities and local administrations.

Currently, the Gesein team is made up of 350 workers, who will become part of the 9,000-person workforce that Seidor has distributed in offices in 45 countries around the world.

The general director of the Madrid firm, Santiago Aranda, will assume the position of director of the public sector division of Seidor in Madrid.

“This operation is a great step to become the great Spanish technology company of reference,” celebrated yesterday Josep Benito, the CEO of Seidor.

The Catalan company, based in Vic and controlled by the Benito family, prefers not to share the results for the 2023 financial year. In the previous year, its income was 767 million euros.

This year, Seidor plans to boost its growth through new acquisitions both locally and internationally. It is a strategy that it has been applying in recent years with acquisitions in Spain of companies such as Opentrends, NTS, Impala, Nubersia or Avenet and, abroad, of firms such as WorkWell, Teamsoft, GunPowder and ECA Consult.
