The EQE SUV is available with the essential innovations of the EQS and at the same time is more dynamic than the EQS SUV. It is one of the most spacious representatives of its class and, at the same time, it is more compact than the EQE saloon and, at 3,030 mm, it has a wheelbase that is 9 cm shorter. It uses the new electric platform from Mercedes and its exterior dimensions are 4,863 mm in length, 1,940 mm in width and 1,686 mm in height.
The modular drive concept enables the EQE SUV to offer a wide range of drive power outputs, ranging from 215 to 300 kW. Depending on the equipment and configuration, it can reach a range of up to 590 km according to the WLTP cycle. The EQE SUV's lithium-ion battery consists of ten modules.
The current generation of driver assistance systems includes numerous functions. Standard equipment includes, among other things, Attention Assist, Active Brake Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Parking Package with Reversing Camera and Speed Limit Indicator. Systems status and activity are displayed on the driver's display. There is the possibility of optionally equipping additional equipment.
The chassis consists of a four-link axle at the front and a spacer-arm axle at the rear. Thanks to the comparatively short wheelbase of 3,030 mm and the corresponding chassis tuning, it proves particularly agile and manoeuvrable even in the basic configuration. Airmatic air suspension with ADS continuous damping is available as an option.
It is possible to raise the level of the vehicle by up to 30 mm and thus increase the ground clearance. In addition to the Dynamic Select Eco, Comfort, Sport and Individual programs, EQE SUVs with 4MATIC feature the Offroad program for off-road driving. A rear axle steering system with a maximum steering angle of 10 degrees is available as an option, reducing the turning diameter from 12.3 to 10.5 metres.
The EQE SUV offers the possibility to activate additional vehicle functions via Over-the-Air (OTA) technology in a number of functional areas. Part of the equipment of the EQE SUV can be customized after the purchase and the original configuration of the new car. The OTA functions are available in the Mercedes me Store and the offer will continue to expand.
Using adaptive software, the MBUX display and operating concept makes personalized suggestions for numerous infotainment, comfort and vehicle functions. One of the highlights of the interior is the optional MBUX Hyperscreen. In the Zero-Layer section of the display, the user does not have to scroll through submenus or issue voice commands to find the desired functions. The EQE SUV has a thermal architecture with a heat pump as standard. This makes the system work very efficiently: waste heat from the electric drive (inverter and electric motor) and from the high-voltage battery can be used to heat the interior. In this way, the demand for electric current from the battery for heating is greatly reduced, and the autonomy is increased accordingly. Another pleasant and effective function is pre-climatization. The Thermatic automatic climate control with two climate zones is part of the standard equipment. As an option, the Thermotronic system with four climatic zones is available.
