Gravel Backroad, the new and versatile electric bike from Rose Bikes

Rose Bikes is a young bicycle manufacturer, but its experience in the sector goes back hundreds of years. It began its activity as a retailer in the sector in 1907, with a small bicycle shop run by Henrich Rose. His daughter took over in 1932; he sold bicycles in the summer and sewing machines in the winter.

In the early 1980s, Erwin Rose was one of the first Europeans to import Japanese bicycles and later specialized in distance selling, an activity that allowed the company to expand with new shipping warehouses. In 2011 his own brand, Rose Bikes, was created, launching his own bicycles on the market.

Rose Bikes offers the new versions of the Gravel Backroad AL model, framed in the segment of versatile, comfortable and versatile electric bicycles, capable of offering high performance both on asphalt and on dirt tracks in good condition.

This Rose Bikes model has an electric motor from the Mahle brand that has 40 Nm of torque, in charge of offering sufficient support for pedaling. This model is equipped with a 250 watt hour battery pack.

Rose Bike claims that it allows you to travel an approved distance of up to 84 km on a single charge. However, the brand itself clarifies that, in real conditions, this distance can be approximately 60 km.

The Gravel Backroad AL is available in two variants, which share the same frame and drivetrain. From here they differ in some components. The AL Plus Apex XPLR version is equipped with a 12-speed transmission from SRAM. The AL Plus GRX RX810 variant has a Shimano GRX 11-speed drivetrain.

Ride comfort is one of its strengths and offers a relaxed geometry, a comfortable position for long journeys. The aluminum frame is equipped with various mounting points that allow the installation of multiple accessories such as additional bottles, mobile phone holders, storage bags, etc.

Another of the choices that allows its configuration refers to the tires and wheels. It is possible to choose the 650b size with covers of up to 50 mm, or the 700C size, with 45 mm covers. The complete bike is quite light, weighing in at around 13.4kg and is available in misty gray and olive green colours.
