Jordi Cruz is a renowned and high-profile Spanish chef who is a benchmark in the haute cuisine sector. This is supported by the prestigious Michelin stars that his restaurants have received throughout his professional career. The man from Manresa, 45 years old and author of various gastronomic books, is also known for his role as a jury on the MasterChef television competition. But beyond all this public facet, the Catalan has hobbies unknown to the general public. And this is the case of his interest in motorcycles.

He admitted this a few years ago in an interview published in the magazine of the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT), where he declared himself a biker, although only an urban biker because, as he explained in that medium, it gives him a lot of respect to ride this mount outside the city. city ​​because a relative of his died in an accident.

Currently, Cruz travels on an electric model from the North American manufacturer Zero Motorcycles, which could be considered the Tesla of two wheels. This is the high-performance Zero S motorcycle, which is marketed in Spain for a price of 18,715 euros (not counting discounts or promotions).

In various videos that the brand has shared on its social networks, the chef highlights the virtues of the specimen, which can also be driven with a car license (as long as you have at least three years of experience). “I like to recommend things that are really good, and with the Zero I drool,” admits the chef, who has this mount leaving a good taste in his mouth due to its performance, autonomy, behavior and ride comfort.

The 288 kilometers that it can travel on a single charge are enough to cover the daily routes you may take. In addition, its features are more than enough to carry out intercity routes without problems. The top speed of this Street Naked is limited to 139 km/h and its 14.4 kWh Z-Forze lithium-ion battery can be charged from a household socket. Without a quick kit it takes nine hours; with the kit, just over two, at 95%.

The central engine, which develops a continuous power of 11 kW (15 HP), has two driving modes: Eco and Sport. The user can download the Zero application to be able to remotely control some functions of the motorcycle from their mobile phone. Thus you have the possibility of customizing various parameters or knowing the charging status of the battery. As for equipment, it has full LED lighting and a 5-inch full-color TFT instrument panel.

In addition to the Zero S, the American brand markets other products in our country. The catalog also includes the following motorcycles: SR/S, SR/F, SR, FXE, DSR/X, DSR, DS and FS. All of them are electric mounts. Depending on the model, the top speed can reach 200 km/h and the range exceeds 300 kilometers.
