Audi's exclusive electric bike: inspired by Carlos Sainz's car in the Dakar, it costs 8,900 euros

The environmental policies designed by the European Union and applied by the member countries are transforming mobility in large urban centers. The creation of low emission zones is a clear commitment by cities to sustainable mobility. In this new scenario, electric bicycles and scooters have become two solid players in a micromobility that is gaining followers every day.

The big automotive companies are no strangers to this change in trend. For some time now, car manufacturers such as Peugeot, Skoda or Smart have also made an incursion into the world of bikes, pointing to a fashion that other luxury brands such as Lamborghini, Bugatti and Ferrari have not rejected either. In this article we present the most exclusive frames topped with the logo of major car brands.

Audi is also involved in urban micromobility. To verify their commitment in this field, it is enough to take a look at their catalogue. In addition to having a wide range of cars with all kinds of engines, the directory of the German brand also includes an elitist scooter, called the Electric Kick Scooter, as well as various electric bicycles.

The latest two-wheeled innovation that has been launched on the market is the Audi e-tron Electric Mountain Bike, a high-performance enduro bike. Its design is inspired by the Audi RS Q e-tron, the model with which Carlos Sáinz and Lucas Cruz participated in the last edition of the Dakar Rally, and is sold through the website of the German brand itself for 8,900 euros.

The price of the bike already anticipates that we are dealing with an exclusive and quality product that confirms the brand's change of course with a view to 2026, the year in which it will only manufacture electric vehicles. The e-tron is built in collaboration with Italian specialist Fantic, using the ultra-light aluminum frame of their own XMF 1.7 as a base.

The bike, made of aluminum and carbon, is equipped with a full 36 volt 720 Wh battery with a power of 250 watts and a torque of 90 Nm, capable of facing any slope. "This bike impresses with its performance and its progressive technology," says the brand itself.

The e-tron is a bicycle that adapts to all types of terrain, which is why it is aimed at both cycling lovers and those who prefer to ride on mountainous trails. To handle the toughest situations, the bike is equipped with a full suspension system and wide, fat-tread tires. On the other hand, the technology of the disc brake system comes from motorcycle racing, according to the German manufacturer.

The Audi e-tron Electric Mountain Bike allows its users to choose between four riding modes to adapt to the characteristics of the terrain. These four modes are Eco, Tour, Sport and Boost, each designed for a specific type of route.

So, for example, Eco mode prioritizes electric performance, while Tour and Sport modes focus on bike power. The Boost delivers the maximum level of electrical assistance to tackle the most demanding ramps.
