A minor believes he is an F-1 driver and overturns with a microcar in the famous curve of the Monaco circuit

The Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix is one of the most special events of the many that make up the calendar of this single-seater championship. Its urban layout has a large number of climbs, descents, short straights and sharp turns. One of these is the mythical Loews curve -now called Fairmont-. Its 180-degree fork shape makes it the slowest in the entire World Championship: at that point, the drivers are traveling at 50 km/h, far from the maximum speed reached by their cars.

It is about guaranteeing safety, something that the protagonist in question here has not done: a young man who has tried to emulate Ayrton Sena or Lewis Hamilton at the wheel of a Citroën Ami, a quadricycle that in Spain can be driven from the 15 years. However, neither he has the driving skills of these automotive legends nor is the vehicle he drives prepared for extreme driving. So, it was more than foreseeable that the snatch from him to feel like an F-1 pilot would end badly.

As can be seen in the videos shared on social networks, first trace the upload curve. And it does so at excessive speed, as you can hear the wheels screeching as they take the turn. Then it appears back to make the reverse run down. It also does so at an excessively high rate. He enters the curve so far past that the vehicle gets on two wheels and ends up overturning. The protection bollards strategically placed in that part of the turn prevented the car from invading the sidewalk and ending up running over any of the pedestrians who were there.

The Monaco Informativo Twitter account indicates that the driver of the vehicle was a minor and at Moveo we have confirmed this. In fact, he is 14 years old, the minimum age required in France to get behind the wheel of this type of vehicle. Another 22-year-old boy was also co-driver in the microcar, who goes by the name of Raphael Sky on his TikTok profile.

The video of the accident has gone viral so much that even in his profile information on this social network he has specified: "I am the passenger who was in the Ami." Likewise, he has shared a video in which he is seen stretched out in a hospital bed. He wears a neck brace and a bandage on his forehead. The young man responds by raising his thumb to the question "Is my arm and head better?"

As he explains on his Instagram account, the driver was unharmed and he took the brunt of the accident. In addition, he advises his followers: "avoid going crazy in a car you don't know."

This Citroën model is not for running; In fact, it is an electric quadricycle that barely reaches 45 km/h and can be driven without a B license - the one that authorizes driving cars. In Spain, it is enough to have the AM class permit, which can be obtained by people over the age of 15 who have passed the corresponding tests.

It is powered by an 8 HP motor and a 5.5 kWh capacity battery that provides it with a range of 75 kilometers. In terms of dimensions, it is very small: it measures only 2.41 meters long by 1.39 m wide and 1.52 m high, so it occupies half a parking space. It can accommodate two people -the passenger sits in a rear position- and lacks a rear trunk.
