Now open the West's highest outdoor viewing platform

You must not suffer from acrophobia, if you must try New York's newest bid on a ride.

100 floors up in the skyscraper 30 Hudson Yards is the highest outdoor viewing platform in the western part of the world, and it opens in the morning. It writes CNN.

the Platform has been dubbed the Edge, because the developers want visitors to feel that they can go right to the edge. The viewing platform jutting 24 feet out from the building at 345 m altitude and provides a 360 degree view.

- You can see the whole city from one spot. From the Statue of liberty to Central Park. It is really the only place where you can get a view of all the major icons in the city, says Jason Horkin, the deputy director of the Hudson Yards Experiences, to CNN.

Before the Edge was built, had the CN Tower in Toronto holds the record as the West's highest outdoor viewing platform. CN Towers platform is 342 metres and therefore need to see themselves beaten by three metres.

If it is not enough with the view out over New York, so you can also just choose to look down.

Large parts of the floor on the platform is made of glass.

- If you look down, so you can see straight down to 10th Avenue. It is really a unique experience. I think many will lay down here and take selfier from the top, says Jason Horkin.

By many other viewing platforms, there is often a 'security fence', which takes some of the view. But not here. Instead, the fence replaced with a 2,4 metre high glass panels.

- It is very strong glass, and they are designed so that we will never approach us any limits, " says Jason Horkins.

A ticket to the viewing platform costs 244 euros.
