Zalando will lay off "hundreds of workers" to simplify its structure after years of excessive growth in the heat of digitization and the pandemic, the German e-commerce firm announced on Tuesday.
"We have decided to start a program that will eliminate several hundred jobs," he acknowledged in a statement signed by his CEOs, Robert Gentz and David Schneider. The company argues for the decision that in recent years "some areas have expanded too much" and has generated "a degree of complexity in our organization that has impacted our ability to act quickly."
