Work calendar: the five long weekends of 2023 that you should sign up for

2022 begins to slip away and a new year is already looming in which the Spanish will be very attentive to the calendar of holidays and long weekends to rest from work effort. In the exercise that enters in total there will be five bridges at the national level, with some more in certain autonomies that are detailed at the end.

Although the official calendar has not yet been published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) or in some of the communities, which may end up leading to changes, in general terms there are eight non-replaceable national holidays. The first does not arrive until April. They are the following:

April 7. Holy Friday.

May 1. Labor Day, Monday.

August 15th. The Assumption of the Virgin, Tuesday.

October 12 °. National Holiday of Spain, Thursday.

November 1st. All Saints, Wednesday.

6th of December. Constitution Day, Wednesday.

December 8. The Immaculate, Friday.

December 25th. Christmas, Monday.

With these dates there will be up to four bridges or long weekends in the year. A fifth will be given on January 6, a substitutable day but that all the autonomies have decided to maintain.

There will be four national holidays that the autonomies can make or replace with another date.

January 2. New Year, when moving from Sunday 1 to Monday 2 the holiday.

January 6th. Kings, Friday.

March 20. San José, when moving from Sunday 19 to Monday 20 the holiday or July 25, Day of Santiago Apóstol, Tuesday. Only one of these two can be replaced.

6 of April. Holy Thursday.

Apart from these festivities, we must add two local holidays. In some autonomies the local festival already replaces one of these two dates.

February 28th. Andalusia Day, Tuesday.

6 of April. Holy Thursday.

April 7. Holy Friday.
