Without water and without snow, what will be next?

In the midst of a persistent drought and, in a declared exceptional situation due to the lack of water, the increase in temperature is resulting in the disappearance of snow in the Pyrenees mountains.

It can be seen in this series of photographs in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia captured from a distance, from Torelló, in Osona. As the sun shines, the trace of the last snowfall on the Pyrenean peaks fades.

Another phenomenon that can be seen in full anticyclone is thermal inversion, as seen when the smoke cannot rise upwards.

A thermal inversion occurs when the air temperature, instead of descending as we go up in height, as is normal, rises more and more.

Air cannot rise in an inversion zone, since it is colder and therefore more dense in the lower zone.
