When the solar halo beats the fog

In The Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia we can contemplate the solar halo with fog, in Sant Agustí de Lluçanès, altiplano del Lluçanès, Osona region.

Sant Agustí de Lluçanès has the Santuari dels Munts as its highest point, with 1057 meters, and it is an excellent viewpoint. In one of the photos we see the geodesic vertex signal.

The solar halo is a disk around the sun that has an iridescent ring on its outer circumference, as seen in the images.

This solar halo occurs with high clouds and sometimes indicates a change in weather, let's hope it's rain to alleviate the persistent drought.

The optical halo effect is caused by ice particles suspended in the troposphere that refract light, generating a spectrum of colors around the moon or sun.
