The first vice president and Minister of Culture and Sports, Vicente Barrera, has today offered his full support to the Royal Academy of Valencian Culture (RACV) and Lo Rat Penat, cultural entities opposed to the Academia Valenciana de la Llengua, AVL. Vicente Barrera has pointed out to the media after meeting with the RACV, and before also meeting with Lo Rat Penat, that these entities "in defense of Valencian culture" have been for "many years not only abandoned, but also mistreated, for not being in the ideological line that the tripartite defended".
For his part, the dean of the RACV, José Luis Manglano de Mas, has pointed out that with the Consell del Botànic "there was no deal, there was an absolute void" in terms of worrying, speaking or helping the daily functioning of this entity.
In the previous Consell they were "completely alien to us" and also "tried, although they have not succeeded, fortunately, to financially suffocate the Royal Academy," said its dean, who was grateful that after eight years without "even being able to speak , now at least" they are "attended" and "understood".
Manglano has stated that a language "cannot in any way be imposed by force, not even by the force of the law", and has claimed "the Valencian language, the original, the one spoken by the people, the one that can be written without any problem and that it can be extended to the whole world.
