In a triumphant walk around the Austin circuit (Texas, USA), Verstappen only had to put on his overalls during the first meters of the circuit, in which, after the traffic light turned on, he sent the Monegasque towards the inside of the main straight. Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), who started second, to ensure that he could not overtake him.
That move precisely boosted the British Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), who took the opportunity to overtake the Ferrari driver and begin a 'hunt' for the Dutchman that would last five laps, enough time for Mad Max to escape alone, while the seven-time champion ran away.
