Vall Companys creates a job bank for workers who want to be farmers

A job board for farmers and livestock management technicians. It has just been created by the Lleida company Vall Companys SAU, belonging to the Vall Companys group, with the intention that it includes farms from all over Spain. It is a project of the Campus Farm department, according to the company, "to facilitate employment in rural areas and strengthen the primary and agri-food sector."

Recruitment problems that occur in other sectors such as the hospitality industry or certain industries also affect the field. With the initiative of Valls Companys, "it is a matter of helping farmers in the management of personnel in the face of the difficulty of finding farmers in some areas of emptied Spain, due to a lack of people and also in Catalonia, due to a lack of vocation," he explains, Anna Barbé, project manager.

"The idea -adds Anna Barbé- is to put people who want to work on a farm in contact with farmers who have that need". Unite supply and demand to meet the needs of job seekers and those who can offer it, even if it is, perhaps, far from home.

The Vall Companys Group, family-owned and founded in 1956, is associated with more than 2,100 farmers. Its model is based on the integration of all phases of the production process. On most farms, she owns the animals, feed and medicines, and the farmers provide the facilities and labor.
