Ukrainian drones attack two Moscow buildings without leaving victims

The mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, reported in the early hours of this Sunday through his Telegram account that drones of Ukrainian origin hit two buildings in the Russian capital.

According to Sobyanin, the buildings attacked correspond to office blocks and so far no injuries or deaths have been reported after the attack.

"Ukrainian drones attacked us tonight. The facades of two office towers in the city were slightly damaged. There are no victims or injuries," said the highest Moscow authority on the social network.

On the other hand, the TASS agency inquired with an unidentified source, who confirmed that "the glass of the buildings was shattered as a result of the explosion between the fifth and sixth floors of the 50-story building on the Presnenskaya embankment", added.

The blocks that suffered the attack are located in the modern financial sector of Moscow City.

The RT channel broadcast images and videos showing the damage caused by the explosions at both facilities. On the other hand, it was reported that the authorities preventively ordered the closure of the Vnukovo airport for aircraft landing and takeoff operations. Flights to Moscow were diverted to the Domodedovo and Sheremetievo airfields.

The Russian network also claimed that anti-aircraft defenses shot down several drones near Krasnogorsk and Odintsovo, in Moscow Oblast (province).

The explosions in the Moscow urban area come a day after Russian President Vladimir Putin assured African leaders that Russia has never refused to negotiate and has always declared that it is ready for dialogue.

"At the same time, and this is also well known, the Kiev authorities set up a special regulatory framework, including a decree issued by the President of Ukraine (Volodimir Zelensky) prohibiting negotiations," the president said.
