Agents of the Generalitat Police are investigating two attacks with a knife that occurred this morning in Hospitalet and Barcelona that have resulted in two fatalities, one wounded and one detainee. Both events are independent and are being investigated separately.
The first incident took place this morning in Hospitalet and the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) of the South Metropolitan Police Region is investigating this violent death.
At around 4:45 a.m., the Mossos d'Esquadra received a notice reporting a person injured by a knife in the subway. The Medical Emergency System has gone to the place but has not been able to do anything to save his life.
The mossos have located and arrested a man related to said death in Hospitalet de Llobregat. In the same place there was another injured person who has been transferred to the hospital.
The second case took place shortly after in Barcelona. And the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) of the Metropolitan Police Region is in charge of investigating a violent death that occurred in the Sants-Montjuïc district of Barcelona.
At around 05:25 hours, the Mossos of the Sants-Montjuïc police station received a notice informing them that there would be two people with stab wounds in the Nou square in Barcelona. One of the victims was taken to the hospital while the second victim died.
In both cases, the Criminal Investigation Division has opened an investigation to clarify the facts.
