Citizen Security patrols and the Nature Protection Service (Seprona) of the Civil Guard, together with local police officers from various towns, continue this Tuesday to search for two of the cattle that escaped this Monday after overturning the truck that transported them in the vicinity of the A-3, as it passed through the Valencian town of Buñol.

The wrecked truck was transporting cattle to a slaughterhouse, a total of 44 animals. Several of these cattle escaped from the vehicle after it overturned. Later, some were located and recovered and others had to be shot down. In addition, three of the animals died as a result of the incident.

La Benemérita has explained to Europa Press that this Tuesday two of the calves whose whereabouts are unknown remained to be located. These are the animals that are looking for members of the Security Patrols and Seprona together with local police from different municipalities.

Likewise, the Civil Guard has specified that three animals died after overturning the truck and that another three were killed. Another 36 bulls were recovered after the accident and transferred to another cattle transport vehicle.

The incident occurred this Monday around 11:30 a.m., when the truck overturned in a U-turn on the highway. The accident caused traffic jams on the A-3, which reached eleven kilometres, and on its approaches. No person was trapped inside the vehicle.

Members of the Provincial Consortium of Valencia Firefighters traveled to the scene of the event, specifically two crews from Requena (Valencia) with a sergeant; one from Chiva (Valencia), and an official from this body.

The company responsible for transporting the animals moved another truck to the scene of the accident to transfer the calves that remained in the accident to this new one. Members of the Provincial Firefighters Consortium helped open the overturned truck to remove the cattle that remained inside.

Together with the firefighters and representatives of the transport company, veterinarians and highway maintenance personnel went to the area to capture the animals that had been loose along the auxiliary road and the vicinity. Members of the Traffic Civil Guard also went to the place.

The overturning of the truck also caused a benzine leak on the road that was neutralized by the troops of the Provincial Fire Department Consortium.
