Turull criticizes ERC's reproaches to Junts and its "great understanding" with the PSOE

The general secretary of Junts per Catalunya, Jordi Turull, came out yesterday in response to the criticism formulated by Oriol Junqueras and other ERC leaders last Saturday. Turull complained about the reproaches that some Esquerra leaders have leveled at his party, the Consell per la República and the ANC, while showing "so much understanding" towards the PSOE, "those who spy on us and repress us."

Turull, who made these statements during a visit to Llagostera (Girona) to present Junts' candidate for mayor of the town, reiterated that Junts' "unanimous" request is that the government agreement with ERC be fulfilled, "which gives chances of advancing towards independence.

"We ask the president (Aragonès) - pointed out the general secretary of Junts - not to act as if it were a government of only one party" and not to do so outside the agreement established by ERC and Junts at the beginning of the legislature.

"We want to agree, we all need each other," said Turull, adding that "I don't understand why there are so many reproaches towards Junts, towards the ANC, towards the whole world and so much understanding towards the PSOE, those who spy on us and repress us ”.

Turull made it clear that the debate on general policy should be the place where ERC exposes compliance with the agreement reached with Junts: "It is the most normal thing in the world, which gives strength and stability". And after requesting that the agreement be fulfilled, "then decisions must be made" and, in the case of Junts, "they will be in terms of the country" and "unanimously, not consensus, unanimously" in the party.

Regarding the accusations from Esquerra, in the sense that leaders of the PSC and Junts cover up corruption, Turull replied that "they caused a lot of sadness." "We will not enter into provocations - he added - because what people demand is that there be an effort among independentistas to reconcile complicity and not to amplify reproaches." Even so, Turull called Junqueras' words "defamation", who accused Junts of having "little legitimate" aspirations and wanting to "cover up his corruption cases". And faced with the possible rupture of the coalition, the general secretary of Junts warned: "No one by himself can achieve the independence of Catalonia."
