Turull considers the Dalmases case settled

With the resignation of Francesc de Dalmases as vice-president of Junts per Catalunya and his departure from the Parliament's control committee at the Catalan Audiovisual Media Corporation (CCMA) in training, the case is closed. The spokesman and vice-president of the formation, Josep Rius, had already made it clear on Friday and the general secretary, Jordi Turull, confirmed it this Wednesday, during an interview on Catalunya Ràdio.

The leader of Junts has considered that this is enough and believes that the resignation of Dalmases, who is now on leave, to his deputy act is not necessary. In addition, the former Minister of the Presidency has also asked to "take note" so that "episodes like this do not happen again".

However, in the Catalan Chamber the matter has not yet been shelved and on Friday the Commission of the Statute of Deputies is scheduled to meet to approve a report on the incident of the former vice president of JxCat, who has been replaced by the deputy Jordi Fàbrega in the direction of the party. Once the pertinent report has been approved in that body, it will be the Parliament's Board that decides on possible sanctions, which can be a public reprimand or an economic fine if it is ruled that it violated the institution's code of conduct. This is an unprecedented procedure in the Catalan Chamber.

Beyond the pending fringes in that commission, various Junts sources believe that the figure of Dalmases, Laura Borràs' right-hand man, has been very affected by this entire crisis, which has revived internal divisions.
