Donald Trump continues to represent "a clear danger to democracy and freedom in the United States" through a movement "that he has galvanized." This was stated by the Democratic representative in the Lower House of Congress and a member of the investigative committee of the assault on the Capitol on January 6, 2021, Jamie Raskin, before the last public hearing of the body before the mid-term legislative elections on November 8.

As The Washington Post reported on Wednesday, the committee is preparing to show new documents obtained by the White House secret services that prove how then-outgoing President Trump was repeatedly alerted to the violence that was brewing that day, and despite everything still tried to "stoke up the conflict".

The plan also provided that, if he did lose the election, he would try to annul the result.
