Trias opens his list to former councilors of the Generalitat for the elections in Barcelona

Although the announcement of the decision that was already sung – to run for mayor of Barcelona again in the elections on May 28 of next year – was not carried out until last night, Xavier Trias has been working for months on the preparation of the team that will accompany him in his fifth assault on the city government.

Today, the future nationalist candidate – will be proclaimed in January, after passing the primary process – has already begun to reveal some of the names that will accompany him on this adventure.

As it has done on previous occasions, Trias trusts the municipal group and reserves numbers two and three on the list for Neus Munté and Jordi Martí Galbis, respectively. The two of them have assumed the direction of the group since Elsa Artadi left politics last spring.

Trias, who has completed a round of interviews in various media today, has appeared at street level, in the Jardinets de Gràcia, to inaugurate the pre-campaign with the same messages about his candidacy, the state of the city and the brushstrokes on his project for Barcelona that he had already expressed the day before in the interview with La Vanguardia. And also to start putting faces to his list.

In one fell swoop he has given three numbers, all former councilors of the Generalitat. It is about the ex-responsible for External Action, Victòria Alsina, and the President of the Port of Barcelona, Damià Calvet, until a few days ago, both directly affected by the departure of the Generalitat Government Boards in a decision not shared by these people who, according to Trias, they are willing to be part of their list. The third signing would be that of former Business Councilor Ramon Tremosa.

As it was already known, the one who will not be part of the list is the former Minister of Health, Josep Maria Argimon, who has joined the Pasqual Maragall Foundation for the prevention of Alzheimer's in a managerial position.

Xavier Trias has confirmed in an interview in Rac 1 that his list will have a much more personal stamp than that of the party and that he aspires to have the support not only of Junts – today, once again, the entire party, from Carles Puigdemont to Laura Borràs passing by Jordi Turull, Josep Rull or Jordi Sánchez, expressed his satisfaction with the former mayor's decision – but also with other political sectors, including the PDeCat, with whose survivors he maintains an excellent relationship, and in general with all those who "miss a focused strength and common sense.

Speculation about the name of the candidacy has already begun and some of the most popular are Junts amb Trias or Junts per Trias.

Regarding the possibility that Sandro Rosell, ex-president of FC Barcelona, would stand in the elections heading an independent platform, Xavier Trias warned his "friend" that it would be a mistake that would harm both of them, Rosell because he would hardly reach the 5% that he It would ensure a couple of councillors, and Trias himself because the few thousand votes he could get would make it difficult for him to win in an election that will surely be decided by a very narrow margin.
