The Councilor for Finance and Heritage of Alcorcón, Candelaria Testa (PSOE), has advanced that the City Council has managed to get the Ministry of Finance to agree to relax the 2012-2035 Adjustment Plan thanks to debt restructuring, "a vital issue that determine the economic-financial improvement of the city".
This was announced during the last municipal plenary session, held this Wednesday afternoon, where he reported on the aforementioned "readjustment" of the 2012-2035 Adjustment Plan and the pre-settlement of the 2022 budget based on the income and expenses obtained. in the past financial year, which is also being finalized.
Regarding the Adjustment Plan, Testa recalled that, in 2012, the City Council suffered an increase in debt certified with data from the Ministry of Finance: "we went from 127 million euros in 2011 to 265 million euros in 2012", he stressed, citing the peak of the debt in 2015, with 364.9 million euros.
"All of this led us to a 2012-2033 Adjustment Plan that implied tight control by the Ministry, which decided in 2019 to force all municipalities with an adjustment plan to reunify the credits they had, which led to an increase in the term of two years, so our Adjustment Plan was extended to 2035", he added.
The mayor of the Treasury has insisted that, "as everyone can suppose, it is difficult to plan income and expenses for such a long future, since 2012, so the data included in the adjustment plan is absolutely out of date ".
In this sense, he explained that in Alcorcón "60 million were found below what was foreseen as sustainable for 2022 according to the Adjustment Plan".
For this reason, from the Department of Finance they have decided that, "given the current good times", by eliminating "all short and medium-term loans (so that only one loan remains)", readjust these magnitudes of income and expenses "to make a good planning and a good follow-up of the adjustment plan".
"This decision comes from the Ministry of Finance, which has not only congratulated us on the economic-financial data that we have in the city of Alcorcón, but also guarantees that this situation guarantees that it is not necessary to implement further measures," he explained. Head.
On the other hand, in the municipal plenary session, the pre-settlement of 2022 on the statement of income and expenses for 2022 has also been reported, "a provisional settlement that will become final in a few weeks, but which is already yielding very positive results" .
