The Civil and Criminal Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia has set a trial date for former Parliament President Roger Torrent and the pro-independence members of the former table for a crime of disobedience. The trial has been scheduled for July 12, 13 and 15.

In an order of ordination, released this Monday, it is stated that the sessions will be in the morning and afternoon and the start time of the same is set at 10:00 in the morning. The hearing will be held in the hearing room of the TSJC.

The current Minister of Business as well as Josep Costa (JxCat), Eusebi Campdepadrós (JxCat) and Adriana Delgado (ERC) are accused of an alleged crime of serious disobedience after two parliamentary motions were admitted for processing in 2019 ignoring the prohibition issued by the TC. One was in favor of the exercise of the right to self-determination and the other was disapproval of the Monarchy.

The Public Prosecutor's Office is asking for a sentence of 20 months of disqualification and a fine of 30,000 euros for Torrent and for Costa and Eusebi Campdepadrós, and for Adriana Delgado, who is currently mayor of Sant Vicenç de Castellet. a fine of 24,000 euros.

The case stems from a complaint filed by the Prosecutor's Office for allowing the plenary vote on two resolutions in November 2019, shortly after the procés sentence. The first of the motions was presented by the CUP in October 2019 and called on the Catalan chamber to "concretely exercise the right to self-determination and respect the will of the Catalan people."

And the second, also presented by the CUP, rejected and "condemned the position of King Felipe VI, his intervention in the Catalan conflict and his justification of the violence exerted by the police forces on 1-O." Torrent and the members of the Table "rejected the requests for reconsideration" and accepted the admission for processing of the motion that was voted and approved by the Plenary.
