The executive director of the Russian Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, Iván Pechorin, died after falling from a ship in which he was sailing through the Sea of Japan, near Russki Island, the executive's company reported.

According to the Komsomólskaya Pravda newspaper, the 39-year-old senior executive died on September 10.

A few days before the tragic incident, Pechorin participated in the Eastern Economic Forum, in the Russian city of Vladivostok, where several senior Russian officials met.

"Iván's death is an irreparable loss for his friends and colleagues, and a great loss for the corporation," says the official note.

This is not the first death among Putin's top executives. On September 1, the president of the Russian oil company Lukoil, Ravil Maganov, 67, died after falling out the window of the Moscow hospital where he was admitted.
