The general secretary of the Junts, Jordi Turull, has aired in a few words the pressure that the ERC and the opposition have been intensifying on the "Borràs soap opera". With nothing new to say on the matter, other than reiterating that the appointment of the president of the Chamber is part of the government agreement with ERC, the post-convergence leader, accompanied by the suspended president, struck back by threatening the Republicans with the serious possibility of leaving the Government.
“We cannot continue like this”, warned Turull from Girona after a “long” meeting of the party's executive committee in which the result of the audit that the party commissioned before the summer on the degree of compliance with the agreement was analyzed in depth. legislature. An audit that, although in the sectoral sphere turns out to be positive, in the "national axis" the perception is that it has entered into "a dynamic that moves us away" from the objective of the legislature of 52%, culminating independence.
Given this perception, the executive has agreed "unanimously" to try to reverse the situation. A month is given, until the general policy debate that will take place in Parliament on September 28, 29 and 30. In this way, Junts expects clear signals from the president in his speech that his will is not to remain in tactical autonomy through a negotiating table with the State Government and without a strategy of united action in Madrid, the two great demands of Together.
After the political debate it generates "we will meet again, we will concentrate on the solution, not on looking for culprits, and depending on the result of the debate we will make a decision", although in the end it will be the Junts militancy who will have the last word in a consultation already planned in advance.
