The new local political platform Estimem Vilassar de Mar, led by Alfons Núñez Jacas, has reached an agreement with Junts per Vilassar, a formation led by Laura Martínez Portell, to run together in the upcoming municipal elections in May 2023.
The Estimem Vilassar de Mar (Maresme) platform was born, according to the statement sent, with the aim of reinventing the current way of doing politics and to focus on the most necessary and urgent challenges and projects of the municipality. After speaking with a good part of the local political organizations and assessing the different projects they have for the town, they have decided to join forces with Junts per Vilassar.
Alfons Núñez Jacas, from Estimamos Vilassar de Mar, affirms that this decision is consolidated after several meetings of both teams where they have confirmed that they share the same vision of the people. "We want a greener, cleaner and more cared for Vilassar de Mar, accessible, that promotes local economic activity, that encourages culture, that facilitates sports practice and that lives facing the sea". At Junts, they say "we have found people who, like us, love Vilassar de Mar, and who work to improve the quality of life of its citizens".
From Junts por Vilassar de Mar, for her part, the mayoral candidate Laura Martínez Portell values this understanding very positively. "From Junts we have always defended that the best way to do politics is by joining efforts". Estimems Vilassar de Mar, for Martínez brings fresh air and new ideas to municipal politics and the Junts group "the necessary experience to face the great challenge of becoming mayor of the municipality".
