Tite, assaulted by a thief who reproaches him for the failure of Brazil

The former coach of the Brazilian team, Tite, was robbed last week in Barra da Tijuca, in Rio de Janeiro. The coach who could not qualify the verdeamarela to the World Cup semifinals was walking along the beach with his partner around 6 in the morning when a person ripped a chain from his neck. The information published by the newspaper O Globo also reported that the assailant would have reproached him for the failure of the team in Qatar.

Meanwhile, according to the Civil Police, "the victim has not recorded any incident so far, according to the 16th PD (Barra da Tijuca)". The assault happened early last week. A person passing by on a bicycle stole the chain he was wearing when he was walking with his wife. A witness tried to stop the assailant, but was unable to intercept him. Tite thanked him and continued on his way.

The coach has been in Rio de Janeiro since the elimination of the Brazilian team against Croatia in the quarterfinals of the World Cup. The coach confirmed the departure of the technical command and takes a rest period, before deciding his future from 2023.

Tite was clear: Qatar 2022 was going to mark the end of his career as coach of the Brazilian National Team. And that end came after the elimination on penalties against Croatia, in the quarterfinals. "Painful defeat, however I am at peace with myself. End of the cycle," said the 61-year-old coach just after that meeting.

Scratch arrived with the candidate plate, supported by a process that was sustained despite some hard blows and with a squad full of elite footballers, but fell again in the quarterfinals (Belgium was their executioner in Russia 2018). For this reason, the coach made the decision not to renew the contract that expired on December 31.

In this context, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) is already beginning to work on the name of his replacement and there are two that stand out for their enormous career and their presence in the most important clubs in the world: the Spanish Pep Guardiola and the Italian Carlo Ancelotti, quadruple winner of the UEFA Champions League.

Since he took office as president of the CBF in March of this year, and knowing in advance that Tite would leave after the World Cup, Ednaldo Rodrigues had the name of Pep Guardiola in his head and the contract that they would offer him was even leaked. : a four-year bond, until the 2026 World Cup, in exchange for 12 million euros net.

As the Spanish press reported at the time, there was a first approach with Pere, brother and representative of the Catalan, to try to seduce him with the possibility of leading a large team, not from an economic point of view, since in Manchester City the number he receives is vastly older. However, his intention to continue in England weighed more and that led him to renew his contract until 2025.

And even the historic Ronaldo Nazario acknowledged the contacts on his YouTube channel: "There was interest in Guardiola, there was discussion with Guardiola's coaching staff, but he preferred to renew his contract with City." And he added: "Perhaps it would be difficult for the CBF to reach an agreement, he is the highest paid coach in the world."

The list, according to the Brazilian press, contains other options such as Jorge Jesús, Dorival Jr, Mano Menezes, Rogerio Ceni, Renato Gaucho, Abel Ferreira, Cuca and Fernando Diniz. In the latter he made special reference to the 'Phenomenon', who considered it could be the "surprise" for the election.

“Everyone will be surprised. From this list, the CBF would consider Fernando Diniz. He would be an attraction for the Brazilian National Team. He is a guy who plays well and puts on a show. A lot of people might question that he didn't win the title, but I think he's a good coach. It is a very important decision for the next cycle, the sooner they present the name and start working on the philosophy of the coach, the better it will be. And we'll see. I'm curious. I think big names are coming here, ”he said.

Finally, in an interview with the EFE news agency, Ronaldo stated that he would have no problem with a foreign coach taking charge of the Brazilian National Team, which would break with history: only once, and it was an Argentine (Filpo Núñez), there was officially a coach who was not born far from the Brazilian borders.
