Three men arrested for six robberies with the 'sewer' method in Alcorcón and Móstoles

The National Police have arrested three men in the Madrid municipality of Alcorcón as allegedly responsible for six robberies with force committed in commercial establishments in the towns of Alcorcón and Móstoles, using the well-known 'sewer' method.

The detainees were caught 'red-handed' when they had just assaulted and robbed a computer component store in the town of Móstoles, also by the 'sewer' method, reported the Madrid Police Headquarters this Thursday in a statement.

The events occurred at dawn on the 16th, when the agents, who were carrying out crime prevention work, detected how a vehicle occupied by three individuals was entering the municipality of Alcorcón at high speed, coming from Móstoles.

Due to these facts, they decided to stop it, proceeding to identify its occupants, being able to observe that two of the men had recent injuries to their hands and arms.

After various joint police investigations between agents from the Alcorcón and Móstoles National Police stations, they were able to establish that these persons fully matched the physical characteristics of individuals who moments before had entered an establishment in Móstoles.

There, they had fractured the window window, entering the premises and managing to steal various computer equipment.

In the search of the vehicle, numerous tools, gloves and clothing used in the commission of the criminal acts were intervened.

The rapid police action concluded with the arrest of the three men, as presumed perpetrators of a crime of robbery with force, subsequently going to court.

As the investigations advanced, the investigators were able to determine that the suspects were part of a criminal group dedicated to robbery with force in establishments, specialized in the 'sewer' method, accrediting their participation in at least five criminal acts.

The method called 'sewer' consists of fracturing the windows of the shop windows with the covers of the public sewers to gain access to the interior of the establishments.

This facilitates quick access to the interior of the premises and after seizing the effects, it also facilitates a quick escape through the place of entry.

In addition, in the case of being detected in the vicinity, they would not carry instruments that could link them to the robbery.
