The Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested three young people to whom they attribute three thefts of chains in Sant Cugat del Vallès (Barcelona) through the tug-of-war procedure, as well as the occupation of an apartment that they later 're-let' for rooms.
The three detainees, aged 21, 23 and 28, were arrested on the 30th and are charged with the crimes of robbery with violence, threats, coercion and home invasion, the Catalan police reported this Sunday.
The robberies of which they are accused took place between August 14 and 20, and in all of them they violently ripped off the gold chains that the victims wore around their necks.
In addition to the robberies, the Mossos also accuse them of squatting a property on Calle Plana de l'Hospital de Sant Cugat, which they 'rented' to various people in exchange for money. One of these tenants reported to the local police that the three detainees had entered his room and threatened him with a knife to make him leave the apartment.
