On Thursday afternoon in Balaguer, the Generalitat firefighters evacuated a street on Cuartel de Balaguer Street, in the Historic Center, where three children and six adults lived when part of a false ceiling collapsed.
The nine tenants have been relocated to a hostel, as explained this Friday by the mayor, Lorena González.
Municipal technicians plan to shore up the building and assess the damage and the necessary actions to ensure its habitability.
The mayor has announced that the tenants will remain in the hostel for as long as they need.
Three crews from the Generalitat Fire Department and several patrols from the Local Police traveled to the damaged building.
